Sorry if this is a dim question but is the solution you used quite thick or jelly like ? I'm wondering why it might clog up the sprayer.

It’s not thick at all. Just hart to get the powder/crystals to stay in solution. They seem to want to precipitate or maybe I just didn’t get them completely dissolved. I think the cold temperatures and pressurization-depressurization cycles don’t help either. I do know that when left unattended in the tank for a day or two there is a lot of crystal formation on the pump and inside the tank. Which reminds me, I gotta clean that thing out! Any chemists out there with solutions to dissolve boron crystals from the inside of an expensive agricultural spray tank...?

Did you make your solution with warm or hot water?
If you did, you probably saturated the mixture which means you had a borax suspension rather than dissolved borax.
Best to make your mixture with cold water, let it sit and let anything undissolved settle, then pour the mixture into your sprayer thingie.

As for the clogged sprayer.. maybe soaking the whole spray part in water for a while might help?

Thanks Gonbe but it’s done already. That stuff needs hot water to dissolve ( go into suspension). Flushing it out with a hose from the nozzle end was the trick. Taking it a part repeatedly was annoying as I had to inch my way out of the crawl space every time.

Being tall, the confines of that crawl space made any small complications more annoying. Toward the end of it all the wife demonstrated that she can WALK around down there in a squatty position and said,”it’s really not that uncomfortable.” I wonder why the heck she waited til after I’d been down there suffering and cursing for a couple days before showing off her special talent?!

I suspect she was secretly enjoying watching you suffer . Mrs Nouka can be similar watching me awkwardly struggling with something and then saying "You could have done it like this" after I've finished

I am getting the crawl space under my house sprayed against termites. None found during the inspection (house is built on a concrete pad), but still, better to be safe than sorry. Will cost me 135,000 yen and it comes with a five-year guarantee. They also come back to check once a year for 15,000 yen. The chemical they use is clothianidin. I am using this company:

I regularly see termites in the garden, as I have so many tree stumps and general wood biomass.

Let's Talk Termites

Following up on my previous post, I had the termite guys come round and do their thing:

https://ibb.co/y8s8SRs
https://ibb.co/HFRKKRM
https://ibb.co/NCrDXXX
https://ibb.co/V20fBkh

Total cost was 135,300 yen, and comes with a five year guarantee.
My house is built on a thick concrete pad, so the risk of termites coming up from the ground is not so great, but still, for peace of mind I am glad I got it done. I often see termites in the garden.

I used this company : https://www.xn--cckyb8ika7450e78m704d6wf.com/

They were at it for about six hours. They had to use a drill and what-not to make some access holes larger under my house. The good thing is that now even I can get under my house without getting trapped in the tight access spaces!
