Here is the process we use to give spring crops a head start at this time of year

Firstly prepare your seed bed and give it a good watering as it won't receive any rain under the vinyl tunnel, then place your supporting hoops over the bed.

Next cover the bed with agricultural fleece to help retain heat and moisture.

Then cover the hoops with vinyl sheeting

And secure the vinyl with 'House Cord' in a zig zag pattern.

And here are a few I prepared earlier.

That should give the seeds a good head start and once it warms up a bit you can remove the fleece and slowly start raising the sides of the vinyl so it doesn't over heat in the tunnel. For larger plants, like kabocha, you could also use the black plastic mulch to heat up the soil even more.

My little Spring crop has begun to grow.

Well, let us just say the garlic in the kitchen window box (popped in last year) has sprouted.
I plan to start some container potatoes soon too.

Nothing along the line of Zasso-scale but still, I do get excited by the growing of things.

Yes it is time to get tatties in and also now is a good time to start of tomato, nasu and sweet pepper plants indoors if you have a sunny window. They can be moved into a poly tunnel in early April and fully outdoor later on that month, if provided with a bit of protection. You can also start any pumpkin and zucchini seeds indoors now as well and in another few weeks climbing French beans are good to go.

You can also sow sweet corn now, the advantage of planting this early means it will be harvested before there are many corn borers around so they won't get nibbled by these pests. To sow directly lay down some black plastic mulch to warm the soil and punch holes in it to sow the seeds and then cover with a low vinyl tunnel to keep it warm.

Time to get watermelon seeds on the go if you want to beat most of the pests that love to feast on them during the summer.

Gday
These are my two rows of peas one row is fine the second not so good. I noticed my better half was sticking in the root ends of spring onions to regrow in with the peas. I googled planting companions and realized that they don't go together so I pulled the onions out. I didn't really think planting companions was that important but a lesson learnt.
Not sure if the peas will recover.
Cheers

Thank you EdwinRel but not sure what you are referring to as my last post in this thread was back in March, if you could clarify that would be appreciated.
