Could be on for an early spring this year

Post by Zasso Nouka »

Reckon we might be on for a very early spring this year. Already starting to see young preying mantis's in our vinyl houses, normally don't get them until mid to late march.

Let's hope it doesn't mean we're in for a very hot summer as well.

about a month earlier than the others usually but its very early this year!

Wow man, that is early for cherry trees. It has been quite a warm winter this year, we've had many days without any frost at all which is pretty unusual and things like Kairan that would normally be killed of in December are still going so we're starting small batches of seeds off about a month early just in case it is going to come early.

I really hope this isnt a new trend, an extension to the season is great and all but like you said it doesn't bode well for summer

I'm as much in favour of a little season extension as the next farmer and also reluctant to pin weather events for a particular year on to climate change so let's just hope this is a little local glitch and enjoy it while it lasts.
