There's a certain serenity about that one Yamabiru. I saw one recently that quite took my fancy, it was Godzilla with sunglasses and a karaoke mike. I thought that might brighten up the cemetry a bit.

Was strolling back to the house yesterday after parking the tractor and amazed at how bright Venus was.
Not a brilliant picture or anything but it did look quite beautiful.

Flockaducks - Not my panels.
Like the way they incorporated parking underneath. Those went up about a year ago.
Will be interesting to see how they manage the situation.

Ouch , that could be expensive to put right if any of the panels have been damaged. Seems like a rather shallow angle for snow country.

Re: Post your country pictures!
Here are a few photos of my new place. Twenty years-old. Most of the land is classified as farmland, so I had to buy it using 仮登記. Currently under review to be reclassified as forest. I intend to keep it pretty much as it is. The house is set back about fifty meters or so from the road. The only area which really needs any kind of "reform" is the kitchen, just because it is rather shabby-looking.
The house managed to withstand two very powerful earthquakes last year and hundreds of aftershocks! Here's hoping we get no more....

What a gorgeous house and surrounds. (makes grabby hands at that baby grand)
I notice it has proper hardwood floors too.

Re: Post your country pictures!
Thanks! Yes, I am pretty happy with it. The current owner seems to have taken decent care of it.
One thing I am wondering about is whether it is necessary (as opposed to purely cosmetic) to repaint the outside of the house and exterior wooden beams/struts with some kind of weatherproofing or sealant-type paint/stain? In photo #7 above, you can just see the lines of the inner beams through the wallpaper. I know Japanese houses have thin walls anyways, but just want to protect against any future rain damage.
To be honest, I quite like the older-looking wood and aged look of it.
