I keep waiting for you to start building an earthship.
I wonder how hard it would be to get planning for something like that.

And in the far distant future archaeologists will ponder on the religious significance of the ancient Hyogo stone circle and wonder what kind of rituals were conducted there

Once again Ian, a most impressive construction that looks awesome.

That is like the third most amazing thing I ever saw, and I watched the 2016 US presidential election!
Is that a drystone wall? Image 9 looks like it, but can I see mortar in 10,11, 12?
OMG! All my drystone walls fall over if I don't pitch them at 10 degrees! (slight hyperbole)

Seriously- that is so incredible!

Gonbechan - An earthship in Japan. Not sure if there are many around. Yes, planning could be a challenge, as it was in the States. ;)

ZN - Maybe I should put some silver coins behind the wall and engrave them with e.g. “ZN” or “Nail gun Girl”. haha
But, I think the only ritual in our time might be opening or closing a valve. :D

Eric - Thanks.
And very good observation re. the mortar! Yes, using mortar between the rocks. Still have another day or so to do, then will put the water tank in place and run the pipes.
Also about rocks, a Japanese friend wrote a book about rock walls in Japan and gave me a copy recently. Never thought I’d be interested, but they are growing on me, not falling on me. :D

One thing I like to do when I make a new construction is to take an aluminum can, cut the top and bottom off and flatten it out a bit. Then I lay it on something with a bit of give- like an old magazine or catalog, and with an old ball point pen that doesn't work anymore, I indent a message on it. Date started, finished, my name, and the purpose of the construction. Then I put it usually bury it in the foundation. Some future archeologist might have a field day around here.

I also use this to make tags for my trees that will never fade. A paper punch can pop through aluminum no problem, just run a wire through it and fasten it loosely to a branch.
