Incoming - Typhoons for 2018

Post by Zasso Nouka »

Bugger :angry-screaming:

Seems a bit early this year and it's coming in straight off the sea so the wind and rain might be loaded with salt water again, that caused so much damage last year.

Time to secure anything loose and batten down the hatches.

Here in Shizuoka we barely got any wind, little rain yesterday but that was it i rekon it missed the mainland by a ways.

Luckily no, it shifted south just enough to avoid making landfall so we dodged a bullet this time. One bonus was that I secured all of our poly tunnels which I've been putting off for ages so that was a result.

This one looks like it might miss Miyazaki and so far doesn't seem that intense so could well be fine.

Looks like #12 is going to spread the love around for a fair few of us

Could be a good idea to get out there afterwards and hose down your veggies if you live near the coast as it may pick up a lot of salt given that it's coming in direct from the ocean.

The predicted course seems to be moving further south day by day so the eye shouldn't pass directly over you anymore and if it moves just a bit further south you could even be out of the area containing the strongest winds.

JMA update their prediction several times a day so keep checking them and fingers crossed with a little more southerly movement it could even miss most of Honshu altogether.
