Tora, I am so glad you are ok.
Lucky you with the Eco cute. I bet it was a happy moment when it came back on.

Thanks for the thought. The typhoon spared us but the heat is relentless. It is physically and motivationally draining.

Still early days yet but looks like #21 is going to swing by western Japan

It's still early days and I reckon it's predicted track will shift quite a bit over the next few days, it could miss you entirely.

The better half was saying there is a high pressure band sitting off the east of Japan which sends the Typhoons down toward the west, have you heard anything about that? Is that a regular occurrence?

They were talking about that one the lunchtime weather forecast just the other day, apparently it's sitting somewhere between north Korea and Japan right now so it is a thing. Not sure how often it happens though as I wasn't fully paying attention.

Predicted course has shifted somewhat and you are now on the lefthand side so you may be out of the danger zone Gonbechan.

However it's intensity has been upgraded and it's now rated as 'very strong' so whoever does get hit is likely to take quite a battering.

I sincerely hope so. I also very much hope that it shifts even more than that and misses everybody.
It looks to be one of the strongest I have seen with 190km/h plus winds and JMA has it in category 'violent' which I think is a first for me to see.

Bloody hell, that isn't good. If it's any consolation it's been upgraded to 'Furious'

furious is if you use web translation on the Japanese forecast, but if you just look at the English page, it says violent. :D
