What can be done with 街化調整区域 land other than farming?

So it says you can't make any buildings on 街化調整区域 land, but does this include temporary ones such as container type structures? And would this also automatically mean that non-farming commercial activities are prohibitted?

Thanks. I was hoping for some actual examples of what people were able to do with these types of land despite the restriction.

The problem there is that each municipality can be totally different to another, even though they are all supposed to follow the same laws and regulations in reality they don't with each interpreting the regulations to suit themselves.

Unfortunately this makes giving advice on these matters very difficult as what worked in one location can be totally verboten in another place. At the end of the day the only way to be sure is to talk to your local city council and see how they interpret the rules.

I understand it can be different in each municipality, but it would be great to get some ideas that I could push forward to the municipality. Certainly if it was done somewhere, the likelihood of it being allowed somewhere else improves a little.

The only absolutely foolproof way to find out about a certain property is to ask the real estate agent to check with the municipality of what you can and cannot do with the property.

I know it is not the answer you really want, but some municipalities allow stockyards, some allow nurseries (plants and greenhouses), some allow houses to be built, some even allow commercial properties to be built, some allow parking. The answers to what one can do vary so much from municipality to municipality so there is no clear answer besides the one given by the municipality that the property resides in.
